It is the policy of Supported Lives that no person shall be discriminated
against or disadvantaged in any way on the grounds of race, colour,
ethnic origin, gender, sexuality, marital status, religion, age or
disability.
It is the policy of Supported Lives to ensure that service users are provided a service according to their individual needs and that they are in no way discriminated against on the above grounds.
It is the policy of Supported Lives that employees are recruited, trained
and promoted on the basis of ability, the job requirements and such
other similar objective and relevant criteria.
It is the duty of employees to accept responsibility for the
application of this policy. Equality of opportunity is about
respecting individuals and positively meeting their needs and
wishes.
It is Supported Lives intention to establish and maintain an
organizational culture, which encourages individual commitment as
well as organizational commitment. Supported Lives will review and maintain procedures and
working practices designed to ensure equality of opportunity.
Supported Lives is made up of a number of individuals - employees, advisory committee members and service users. This policy is applicable to the whole organization. Furthermore, Supported Lives works with other organizations and individuals on both a regular and irregular basis; joint-working practices must be fostered and maintained.
It is recognized that the
implementation and success or otherwise of this policy needs to be
reviewed and monitored. The Directors will monitor the policy’s
effectiveness.
