Staff are expected to treat Clients and carers with courtesy, respecting their dignity, privacy and individuality at all times. If staff suspect that a Client is being abused in any way by anyone else, or is at risk of being abused, they must report it to their Team Leader as soon as possible. The Team Leader will then follow the Vulnerable Adults procedure or the Child Protection procedures as appropriate.
Similarly, if they have concerns about Clients neglecting themselves or otherwise putting themselves at risk they must report this to their Team Leader too.
