12. Withdrawing a service
- A service may be reduced or withdrawn if a Client's needs are shown at review to be decreasing. This change may be implemented after the annual review, or a review/meeting held by request, and the Client will be given notice of the decision.
- If a Clients behaviour is giving cause for concern, because of abuse or of
actual or threatened violence, they will be informed by the Operational Manager that their behaviour is unacceptable. Every effort will be made to reach an agreement with the Client, within the limits of their ability, as to their future conduct.
- If the negotiated agreement fails, the Client will be warned that this may result in a reduction in service.
- A review must be held before implementing any reduction, to determine the level of support needed and any alternative ways of delivering that support.
- Only in exceptional circumstances will a service be withdrawn if a substantial and continuing need for support is identified.
