8.4 Moving and handling

Staff will receive training in approved moving and handling techniques as part of their training programme, and will be given refresher training.
Staff will only use approved techniques and equipment, and work to the organisations moving and handling policy.
Staff must follow the instructions set out in the risk assessment / moving and handling plan.
Staff must not use equipment they believe to be faulty, or attempt to move anyone or anything beyond his or her ability.
