8. Specific tasks

Community Support Workers will normally be expected to provide support in any of the following tasks:

Personal care: help getting in/out of bed, washing, dressing, toileting, bathing. Relevant policy: Personal care.
Medication Relevant policies: Medication; Clinical tasks
Laundry
Heating
Preparing meals, feeding and advising about healthy eating
Cleaning in relation to the above tasks in order to maintain a safe environment
Shopping and pension collection Relevant policies: Money and gifts; Handling Clients' money
Care in emergencies
Safety and health monitoring in conjunction with health professionals
Rehabilitation after a stay in hospital where a referral to Intermediate Care is not appropriate
