6. Key principles
- The main objectives of the service are to enable Clients to remain in their own homes and in community based settings, and lead a fulfilling and contributing life, as independently as possible and for as long as possible, if that is their choice.
- Assessments must ensure that services are appropriately arranged to meet assessed needs.
- Within available resources staff should work with Clients and carers to determine how their assessed needs can be met.
- Staff arranging care packages need to be aware of the roles and responsibilities of partner agencies, and how these relate to those of Supported Lives .
- Clients' and carers' knowledge and experience of their circumstances and how best to meet their needs should be reflected in the way our care services are provided.
- Services will be provided in a way which meets the National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care and complies with the requirements of the General Social Care Council.
- Staff will respect the dignity, privacy and individuality of Clients, and treat their property with appropriate care.
