Mince Pies And Carols
Well, it’s Christmas time again. This is just a short version of the B&T, as it’s not long since we put out our fourth anniversary edition. We will be having mince pies, coffee and carols, led by the Supported Lives S(w)ingers on Wednesday 17 December at 11:00am
All our readers will be most welcome.
May we wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year from everyone at Supported Lives

Who Am I?
Alan Holian
Hi! My name is Alan Holian and I’m an outgoing kind of chap!
Amongst other things, I’m a great fan of the longest running TV
series of all time: Blue Peter. I have a collection of
annuals that Gez, one of my support workers, has helped me to
accumulate.
I enjoyed the recent Blue Peter exhibition at the Media Museum where, to my great delight, I was presented with a book commemorating fifty years of the programme by Amanda, manager of the shop.
Although I don’t look a day over 27 I was actually 40 years old last May. My friends and family helped me to celebrate my birthday with a fantastic party at the Oddfellows pub in Shipley where I was able to indulge in one of my favourite pastimes, namely dancing the night away to Abba and the Osmonds!
Gez and Simon take me out on regular excursions and we often make friends wherever we go.
John Moroney
We'd like to let you all
know that John Moroney sadly had to leave us due to ill
health. Happily, he is now a new man after having had a liver
transplant. He looks really well as you can see, and sends regards
to all.

Who Am I?
Emilia Troc
I have been
with Supported Lives since January 2008. I
work as a Human Resources Administrator and as a Support Worker, as
well. I enjoy working for Supported Lives mainly because there are a lot of friendly and open-minded people
here.
Last year I graduated from a Psychology degree and decided to go to England to get some new experience. That is how I have found SL. Originally I come from Poland (I strongly recommend visiting Krakow - my beloved city, where I spent last few years). At the moment I live in Halifax with my partner and our dog.
Wedding Announcement
We'd like to
offer our congratulations to Immy and Shaheen on their upcoming
nuptials.
A Grand Day Out
The Settle-Carlisle Line

It's that time of the year again - when I just have to spread the news of cheap fares on the Settle-Carlisle line! Return tickets to anywhere on the Settle-Carlisle or Lancaster-Morecambe lines for only £8
The offer is open to anyone with a Concessionary Permit between Monday and Friday. If your Concessionary Permit includes a companion they can also travel for £8. The offer runs until 13 February.
Simon Nunn and I have already attempted to take advantage of the offer but we were foiled by an unspecified but clearly serious problem on the line at Long Preston. However, the Ribblehead Viaduct beckons, so we'll be back in the new year.
